About
From the time data centers began deploying speeds of 40G/100G, there has been a transition towards parallel optics, which is driving the need for multi-fiber connector interfaces. Today we are seeing cloud scale data centers, AI clusters using InfiniBand, and ethernet networks where speeds from server rack-to-leaf and leaf-to-spine are using 400G/800G connections. These connections are using MPO based connectors which are available in 8, 12, 16 and 24 fiber MPO type configurations.

Due to non-blocking architectures, we see data center clusters using a high density of MPO connections. Typically, thousands of MPO connectors are required. Traditional single fiber testing method is labor intensive, time consuming and measures the individual fiber loss.

With higher speeds, the loss budgets are shrinking and this is putting additional focus on the connector and, most importantly, the overall channel link performance.

In this webinar, we will address MPO testing challenges and share some of use case scenarios and various methods used.
